The GHS Library & Other Resources
The library at the Gwinnett Historical Society boasts a collection of some 1600 volumes ranging from published County and State histories to other society newsletters, individual family histories, DAR research, and military history. The emphasis of our collection is Gwinnett and Northeast Georgia history along with those states that our pioneer settlers migrated from including but not limited to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Books

Bookcases are arranged clockwise as you enter the room with shelves numbered one to six from top to bottom. Shelves in the library are arranged in this manner:

Four maps stitched together showing Gwinnett as well as much of Jackson, Walton, Rockdale, DeKalb, Fulton, Milton, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Hall. The lower right map is from the 1894 survey and unfortunately does not match up precisely with the other three. Maps are labelled: Suwanee, Gainseville, Atlanta, and Monroe.
